Ontario, Canada’s second-largest province, has identified two information scientist positions in the Toronto area, the Toronto Star reports.
The Toronto Regional District Office of Economic Development said in a release that it had hired two information scientists in recent weeks to assist in the development of information technology products and services for the province’s businesses.
The agency also said that the information scientist position will be part of a team developing a mobile application that will allow businesses to track employee data.
Information scientists work with data to make decisions about data collection and delivery.
They are responsible for building applications that are efficient and cost effective.
They work with teams and organizations that have an expertise in analytics, data mining and other technologies.
The position will require a bachelor’s degree and is expected to begin in June 2019.
