A new book from New York City-based author and journalist Lauren Weil, The New Yorker Job: The New York Times’ Guide to Amazon Jobs, will debut on the New York book market on Tuesday.
The book is titled “Amazon Jobs and what we know” and it will focus on the company’s hiring practices, according to the publisher, Penguin Random House.
According to the book, Amazon employs an estimated 2.2 million workers worldwide.
The NYTJobs.com page describes Amazon as the largest online retailer in the world and says the company employs more than 2.6 million people globally.
Weil has been writing about the online giant for the last two years and she said she wants to see Amazon’s workforce expand beyond its current 3 million workforce to 8 million by 2021.
The New York Post is also publishing a new book about Amazon called The New Republic, the website of the newspaper founded by Alexander Hamilton, which will be available on Tuesday, according a source familiar with the publisher.
A number of other titles are also available on the NYJobs website including “The Wall Street Journal: The Business of Business,” “The Times” and “The Atlantic.”
