By Kyle Buchanan | Staff ReporterWhen you hear the word “video game artist,” what do you think?
For many, it seems like a job for kids.
For others, it means an art-school degree or a high-paying video game-industry job.
But for video-game artist Daniel Hwang, who earned a degree in video game design in the late 90s, it’s an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
“I really didn’t know what I wanted to do.
I’ve been making games since I was about six or seven,” he said.
“It’s not something I’ve always been interested in.
I was always a gamer.”
Hwang, a lifelong gamer who played video games on both Xboxes and PlayStationes, began to explore the idea of making his own video games in 1999.
In his spare time, he worked on other games, like the popular RPG series Diablo and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed video game.
“For me, I’m not a very visual person.
I want to make something with my own eyes and not be influenced by other people,” he told Bleacher.
“So I started doing all the work on my own and then when I got to university, I got a degree.
And I went back to school for a second degree.”
Huddlos first professional job came in 2000 when he joined Capcom for a position as a graphic designer on a new title, “Battlestar Galactica: Continuum Shift.”
“I loved the job, but I didn’t have a job,” he explained.
“I started getting really frustrated.
And so I just kind of quit.”
He later landed a job at Capcom again, this time as a programmer, and started working on new games for the company.
“One of the games that came out in the last year or so, that’s one of my favorite games,” Hwang said.
The title was “The Last of Us,” a game that featured the main character, Joel, who is the protagonist in the popular “The Walking Dead” series.
Hwang was drawn to the role of a video-games hero in a way that he’d never experienced before.
“The game is kind of about survival and survival in a zombie world,” he remembered.
“The thing that I found most interesting about the game was the zombies, the zombies are just living beings, and they have their own kind of morals, their own culture, their beliefs, and so forth.
It’s always been an interest of mine to write,” he continued. “
Hwang said he’s been writing his own stories since he was a kid.”
I remember the first time I wrote a story, I thought I’d write a book or something.””
Even when I was a little kid, I always wanted to write something.
I remember the first time I wrote a story, I thought I’d write a book or something.”
Hanging with his father and brothers, he also learned to use a computer and developed a hobby of collecting video-gaming peripherals.
“Nowadays, I like to play games,” he added.
“But when I started to write games, I had a hobby, and then I started writing games for myself, and it became this hobby.”
The career pathHwang is now a professor at the University of Toronto, working in video games.
In a recent interview with Bleacher, he discussed the job and his creative process.
He said he started writing video-based games at age 11.
Hwang has written about games in the past for a variety of publications, including the BBC, the BBC Radio 5 Live website, and IGN.
Hui said he began as a fan of the game “Call of Duty,” but soon realized that he was passionate about the genre.
“That’s when I knew I wanted something to do with video games, so I went and bought some computers, and wrote my own story,” he recalled.
“And it was so much fun to play.”
Hui began playing games in high school, and the first video game he ever played was a game called “Super Mario Bros.”
“It was my first experience with video gaming,” he noted.
“Super Smash Bros. was the first game I played in highschool, so it was really fun.
It was the beginning of my gaming career.”
Hwangs work experienceHwang has also worked on a number of video-graphics projects, including “Super Street Fighter II Turbo,” a title that featured characters like Chun-Li, Ryu and the like.
The game received positive critical acclaim and went on to sell more than 100 million copies.
Hwang is now working on his third video game project.
His first game, “Super Metroid,” was released in 2005, and was a commercial success, earning more than $1 million.
“When I was doing that project, I was working on a game, and a lot of people were complaining that they were
